Zelie Dember-Slack, born and raised in New York, moved to Los Angeles to further her career in performing. As a result of the lack of opportunities for women of color, she moved behind the camera to become an independent filmmaker.


She obtained her M.F.A. in Film Production from Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts Program. Upon graduation, Dember-Slack completed her first labor of love feature film, The Sweetest Heir. It received the Best Family Film Award at the IFS Los Angeles Film Festival. She also produced and co-directed a feature film, Stratton Castle: Tale of Jessie Golden Heart, with writer, Peggy Roger. The picture received worldwide distribution with Indican Pictures.


In addition to her industry endeavors, her passion is also training and empowering other underrepresented artists to helm their own productions. She recently produced two short films for the 48 Hour Film Festival. Dember-Slack has also been a guest speaker for Girls, Incorporated, the Organization of Black Screenwriters, Compton High School, Wyandanch High School, NCNWOC, Delta Gems-Embodi Teen Program, etc.


Dember-Slack is also a member of The Organization of Black Screenwriters, Women of Color Unite,  and Women of Color Filmmakers.


Dember-Slack is of African-American, Native-American (Occaneechi Tribe out of Virginia), Barbadian and French descent.

Lynn Slack, Owner of L&W Sound, has worked on several films in various areas and phases of production, which include Producing, Sound Engineering, Lighting, Camera Operation, Director of Photography and Editing.  He’s also worked as a Media Director for both the Seattle and Los Angeles Stage Production of  “Treat Her Like a Lady”.  Short Films: I am the MAN!!!, Making The Rent, One Hot Joint, Nice Guy, Skin, Baby Cammy and Dark Chocolate.  Feature Films: Circle of Five, The Sweetest Heir


Slack’s passion is to provide new or used sound systems to small churches so they can preach God’s word clearly.  He also enjoys helping other artists to fulfill their dreams, whether it’s singing or performing in front of a live audience, recording a song in the studio, making a music video or creating a film.  Slack provides each artist with the utmost care and professionalism.


He currently resides in California with his family but his roots run deep in Louisiana.
