LADY ELECT

In this novel, the congregation at Freedom Temple Church of God in Christ is outraged when their pastor, Bishop Lance Howell, returns from a Jamaican vacation with a new wife in tow. As if Lady Elect Arykah Miles' false eyelashes, scarlet red fingernails, and fishnet stockings weren't flashy enough, her blond wigs and sky-high stilettos send the Elder Mothers into panic mode. Determined to oust her, the Mothers put a plan in motion to show Arykah how they feel. An all-out war quickly ensues, and the church Mothers learn that Arykah is from the streets, and like it or not, she's there to stay.

THE LIFE OF MARGOT

(A True Story)

The Life of Margot shares the true story of Majorie Smith, and her real life journey to becoming one of the pioneers of Negro Ballroom Dancing during the Vaudeville Era.  She paired up with an exotic dance partner, Harold Norton, to become the extraordinary team, Norton & Margot.  Plagued with racial threats from touring in the United States, she and Norton accepted invitations to dance abroad.  The pair danced around the world at such notable places like the Palladium, Moulin Rouge and even before the Queen of England.  When Hitler ordered all of the Negro performers out of Berlin, they were personally invited by Hitler’s men to continue performing.  When it came time for the last of the affluent people of Jewish descent to leave Berlin, Norton and Margot were warned to leave too.  Many cried on the sad trip back to the United States because almost everyone left loved ones behind to suffer the wrath of Hitler.
